The Man Mo Parade cum Autumn Sacrificial Rites 2025 – in celebration of the 155th Anniversary of TWGHs cum 28th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR
To celebrate the 155th anniversary of the TWGHs and the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The group will host The Man Mo Parade cum Autumn Sacrificial Rites 2025 on 12 October 2025, Sunday, recreating the folk religious traditions and cultural features of the early Chinese community in Sheung Wan, and sharing the joy with the public.
First held in 1957, the Rites follow Chinese cultural traditions to pray for peace and prosperity across Hong Kong. Now in its 69th edition, it was inscribed in June 2014 onto the Government’s first “Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory of Hong Kong,” bearing significant cultural meaning. TWGHs is committed to preserving and passing on this legacy. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person or join the live broadcast on TWGHs’ Facebook page to receive blessings together.
In addition, the assembly hall of Tung Wah Hospital will host a variety of stage performances, including dance, Sichuan face-changing, and rope-skipping shows. There will also be free intangible cultural heritage booths featuring handicrafts such as rattle, lacquer fans, sugar painting, Chinese knots, and flour figurines, inviting all to celebrate this grand occasion.
